Carrier sales reps who can hold a rate call.
Sourcing capacity, negotiating rate, covering loads and building a carrier base that answers the phone next time.
Carrier sales is the seat most brokerages want to add first and find hardest to fill. It is relentless, it is judged on a number, and the difference between a good rep and an average one shows up directly in your margin.
A Go Hire Nova carrier rep works your lanes, your boards and your margin targets, inside your own TMS. They are a named person on your account full time — not a shared pool, and not someone splitting their attention across three brokerages.
A day in the seat
- Posting and working loads on whichever boards you subscribe to
- Cold and warm calls to carriers, negotiating rate and terms
- Verifying authority, insurance and safety rating before booking
- Sending rate confirmations and confirming pickup details
- Logging everything in the TMS so the next shift is not guessing
- Rebuilding a repeat carrier list for the lanes you run often
What we screen for
- A live mock rate call. The candidate negotiates a real load against someone playing the carrier, who pushes back the way real ones do. Graded on whether they ask the right questions before quoting, whether they anchor or fold, and what they reach for other than the rate.
- Spoken English under pressure. The bar is that a dispatcher on a bad line in a noisy yard understands them first time.
- Freight literacy. Equipment types, accessorials, what actually drives a spot rate.
- Tolerance for rejection. Outbound is a volume game before it is a skill game, and this is what decides whether they are still in the seat in a year.
What this seat is good for, and what it isn’t
Offshore carrier sales works well for building coverage capacity — working the boards, calling carriers, negotiating, growing a repeat base from scratch.
What does not transfer is a rep whose value is ten years of relationships with specific carriers who pick up because it is them calling. Nobody can hire that in another country, and any vendor who tells you otherwise is selling. If what you need is somebody else’s book, this is the wrong solution.
Common questions
Can they call US numbers from your phone system?
Yes. Staff normally work inside your own phone system or CRM dialler with a US number, so from the carrier’s side the call is indistinguishable from one made in your office.
Do they know the load boards?
They arrive knowing how boards work in general and are trained on whichever ones you subscribe to during onboarding. We do not buy board access on your behalf.
How is performance measured?
However you already measure it — loads covered, margin, calls made. You direct the work; we handle attendance, quality checks and cover.
